This delightful cottage is truly charming and has plenty of old-meets-new style, with rugged beams and an interior that was upgraded in 2024 – making it ideal for a relaxing escape for one or two people. From here you can explore the stunning Yorkshire coastline or the scenery of the North York Moors National Park. At Saltwick Bay (2 miles), you can hunt for fossils, or you could head for the beach at the picturesque fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay (3 miles). Whitby is just 3.5 miles away, where you can climb the 199 steps to the ruined abbey, spend time on the beach, play golf, indulge in some shopping or try one of the many fish restaurants. For a fun day out, you could jump on a heritage train to puff through 24 miles of Yorkshire moorland to the market town of Pickering and its 1930s-themed station.

Enter the cottage and take one step up into the open-plan kitchen/diner, with its high, sloping ceiling and characterful roof beams. The compact kitchen includes a microwave as well as an oven, hob and fridge with ice box; a handy space in which to whip up a quick meal after a day in the fresh air. The bedroom is downstairs, another characterful room with a double bed, ample storage and a TV. The bathroom is also on this level, while your lounge is upstairs, tucked into the roof on a mezzanine overlooking the dining area, and with low, sloping ceilings in some areas. This sweet space feels very warm and welcoming, and boasts comfortable sofas, a TV and lovely views of the sea in the distance through the skylight.

Outside your door you’ll find a bistro dining set on the patio, a peaceful spot in which to sip a morning coffee or enjoy a snack and a sundowner. You’ll have private parking for one car.
